Car Day!

I was presented with an awesome gift of a ‘Car Day’ at Goodwood circuit. There were other options, but Goodwood is closer and has some meaning, so I attempted to book there.
However, the ‘pandemic’ was in full swing, therefore no track days were being held, so I left it until we were allowed to be semi-normal again. Sadly, the voucher was due to expire before I could use it, so it had to be extended. This cost money, quite a lot of money, but rather than loose the initial cost, we decided to capitulate and pay the extortion amount.
The day arrived, and we set off to present ourselves at Goodwood with plenty of time for possible issues. I was not going to miss this!
The cars I had chosen were; Aston Martin DB9, Audi R8 V8, Ferrari 430, and my favourite, the Porsche 911 Carrera. After completing the necessary waiver, further voluntary extortionate options, I was ready to go. You get 3 laps around Goodwood with an ‘instructor’ to ensure you conform to the necesssary safety instructions, and some guidance around the track.
The first car was the Aston Martin DB9. A formidable car, but highly overrated, no doubt by James Bond.
The next car was the Audi – It was phenomenal, by very far the best car I have driven.
Thirdly, I went in the Ferrari. Powerhouse, but noisy and rather uncomfortable, also very old!
Lastly, my favourite car of all time, the Porsche. I’ve always loved this car, and although I had an instructor that was terrified of her own shadow, and barely old enough to drive herself, I did enjoy it. In order or preference if I won the lotto, would be; 1 – Porsche 2 – Audi 3 – Aston Martin 4 – Ferrari Just a personal choice.
